Our Family Farm

Kitsham’s luxury holiday cottages are surrounded by a working family farm and acres of Cornish countryside, making the perfect base to discover Cornwall.

Kitsham Farm has been in the Congdon Family for many generations and has always been a working farm.

We have around 250 cattle, 200 breeding ewes and 5 rams. We purchase most of our cattle and sheep at traditional sales at the local market in Holsworthy. Mostly are sheep are Mules but we do have a mixture of Poll Dorsets as well.

Springtime welcomes in the lambing season and it is always a busy and exciting time of year on the farm.

All of our ewes and lambs are brought inside ready to start lambing in February. This is a 24 hour job and all the family get involved in the feeding and care of the lambs, We are always on the lookout for volunteers to lend a hand!!

Stay in the spring and you will wake up and look out onto fields full of ewes with their baby lambs. The lambs are very entertaining to watch as they gallop and play up and down the fields next to The Hayloft and Hunters Lodge.

Wake up during the summer months and you will look out onto many cattle and sheep, happily munching the summer grass. This fattens them up ready for market.
