About Kitsham Farm Holidays

Kitsham Farm has been in the Congdon Family for many generations and has always been a working farm. In 1963 Grace Congdon (James’s grandmother) bought a small holding called Pegsdon Cottage which along with its two stone barns overlooked Kitsham Farm, its majestic rolling fields and plethora of thriving wildlife, making Kitsham the perfect destination for an exciting family holiday full of discovery.

Kitsham is located just a few miles inland from the North Cornwall coast and only a few miles south of the bustling seaside town of Bude. The magnificent Widemouth Bay is our nearest beach which is seasonally watched over by lifeguards and welcomes dogs all year round.

Kitsham Holidays offer our guests luxury accommodation in a tranquil setting, whilst still being close enough to the regions most loved destinations, allowing you to relax and explore the majesty of Cornwall.

In The Beginning…

The original cottage was let for around 40 years. It wasn’t until 2004 that James and I decided to move into the cottage and start renovations on the two barns, turning them into luxury self catering holiday homes. This has enabled us to follow our dream of providing great value, family friendly and stylish holiday cottages in Cornwall, without compromising on quality, location or interior design.

Our renovations have now developed into beautifully finished cottages, with enclosed gardens which serve to enhance the spectacular countryside views.

Hayloft Cottage now sleeps 7, with Hunters Lodge sleeping 4 very comfortably.

Building Luxury Cottages

We are delighted to add a new build to our holiday cottage portfolio. Finished in June 2016, The Lookout, sleeps 6 and is situated on the outskirts of Marhamchurch near Bude in Cornwall. Our most ambitious project to date, The Lookout is modern with a reverse living layout and a large south facing glass balcony with luxury rattan family furniture for overlooking its majestic views of the Cornish countryside.

Our luxury cottages are Five Star rated with Gold Award by Visit England. Each cottage has Egyptian cotton linens, underfloor heating, natural paints and floorboards, pure wool rugs and carpets, top-spec German appliances and bathroom fittings to provide every comfort and convenience.

Our cottages are not run by agencies, in fact we only live a couple of miles from any of our holiday cottages and we are always on hand to help.

Our week long stay in Hunters Lodge was perfect – so relaxing. The cottage is beautiful and has been renovated to an excellent standard. We love the bathroom particular! We ate at Bullers Arms and the Bay View during our stay and would recommend both. We will return to Hunters Lodge next year.
